What are we doing?
Overview
We are building an online and in-person training programme to empower women and increase confidence in their skills, particularly in emerging technologies and AI.
Approach
Online learning about new technologies, industry specific advice and practical skills, industry specific knowledge, and advice from leading women business leaders.
Benefits
Empowering women to excel in male dominated industries, increasing the skilled workforce and raising productivity.
The gender gap
The gender gap for women in business is a critical challenge – and as women become more senior that gap becomes larger:
Women hold fewer than 20% of leadership positions in the tech industry; only 19% of senior vice presidents and 15% of CEOs in the tech industry are women.
According to the UK Tech Workplace Equality Report the average salary offered to men in tech is £66,000 but only £63,000 for women.
Women in financial services hold only 19% of C-suite roles, and 5% of CEO roles.
At 28% the gender pay gap for women in financial services in the UK is larger than in any other sector.
Our learning
A ‘learn-as-you-go’ app will be the cornerstone of our learning programme. It will provide an immersive learning experience in bite-sized chunks similar to Headspace or Duolingo. It will be available, under license, to enterprises and/or through an ad-driven personal subscription model.
